The Astros Will Take On A Fellow Contender To Open 2023
[ad_1]

The Houston Astros will begin their 2022 World Series title defense next March when they open the 2023 season against the Chicago White Sox at home.
The Astros won 106 games during the regular season in 2022, which earned them the top seed in the American League and a bye until the ALDS.
They defeated both the Seattle Mariners and the New York Yankees to advance to their fourth World Series since 2017, where they would eliminate the red-hot Philadelphia Phillies.
But in 2023, they’ll raise their championship banner on Opening Day, as Tim Anderson and the Chicago White Sox come to town to begin the new season.
The White Sox and Astros met in the ALDS a season ago.
That series went four games, with the Astros ultimately outlasting the South Siders to advance to the ALCS.

Sox, ‘Stros Set For Opening Day Clash
During the regular season in 2022, Houston won four out of seven games against the White Sox to win the season series.
Chicago fell short of the postseason in 2022, finishing 11 games behind the Cleveland Guardians with an 81-81 record.
When they meet the Astros on Opening Day in 2023, it will be the first game at the helm for new manager Pedro Grifol.
Opening Day will be on Thursday, March 30.
The opening series between the two teams will be a four-game series.
The defending World Series champions will travel to the South Side of Chicago for a weekend series against the White Sox from May 12-14.
For now, we’ll have to wait through the offseason, but 2023 figures to be an exciting season.
