The Philadelphia Phillies certainly had a memorable ride in 2022, reaching the World Series for the first time since 2009 after barely sneaking into the postseason as a Wild Card and eliminating three of the top five teams in the National League.

Philadelphia fell short against the Houston Astros in the World Series.

But now that the offseason is underway and free agency is set to kick off tonight, the Phillies may have a chance to sign a superstar in Trea Turner.

Turner is a free agent after parts of two seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

One Phillies analyst expressed his opinion on the situation and stated that the Phillies should act and try to sign Turner.

Phillies Analyst Demands Turner Signing

Turner headlines a stacked shortstop class in free agency that also features Carlos Correa, Dansby Swanson, and Xander Bogaerts.

The Phillies recently declined Jean Segura‘s club option, making him a free agent.

If the Phillies were to sign Turner, then they could potentially shift Bryson Stott over to second base.

But as this analyst points out, Turner has averaged 114 runs, 24 home runs, and 45 stolen bases per 162 games over his career.

Signing Turner would make them a serious threat to make another run to the World Series.

It also would be a good fit for the star shortstop, as former teammates Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber are both key contributors in the Phillies’ lineup.

The Phillies have a chance to potentially cash in on one of the most talented players in all of baseball and rival teams like the Dodgers and Atlanta Braves again.
