The Kansas City Chiefs are sitting on top of the AFC West thanks to Patrick Mahomes.

While Mahomes has shown some struggles this season, he keeps getting the team wins.

Those wins are helping him lead the charge to some NFL history.

So what history is the young quarterback in Kansas City making in 2022?

Mahomes Holds Nearly Every QB Record After 70 Career Games

When looking at great NFL quarterbacks, Mahomes has his name etched in history.

As Jeff Kerr reports, Mahomes is first in completions, passing yards, and passing TDs after 70 career games.

He’s also tied for second for most wins over those 70 games, a feat only topped by Otto Graham.

This shows how Mahomes is making history, despite some missteps in his career.

While the young QB only has one Super Bowl victory, he’s still a lock during the regular season.

Even without Tyreek Hill this season, he’s bringing home victories.

However, is he only making history because defenses aren’t playing against him correctly?

Some NFL Teams Don’t Keep Pressure On Mahomes

A perfect example of Mahomes taking advantage of defenses is his game against the Las Vegas Raiders this season.

When the Raiders had pressure on Mahomes, he was awful, going 0-6 against pressure to start the game.

However, when the Raiders stopped sending in pressure, he picked apart the zone defense and mismatches.

It was the reason the Chiefs came back and won that game, 30-29.

While Mahomes is making history, he can thank the lack of pressure and his talented reading of zone coverages for this.
