It’s been a tough ride for the 2022-23 Los Angeles Lakers.

Darvin Ham’s team got off to a dreadful start to the season, and just when it seemed like they were heading in the right direction, things went south again.

Anthony Davis’ injury has been a massive blow for the purple and gold.

He was playing at an MVP-caliber level before suffering a foot injury, and now it seems like he’s heading for a couple of months on the sidelines.

To make things even worse, the Lakers were also missing their other two stars, as both LeBron James (ankle) and Russell Westbrook (foot) missed some games with injuries.

Fortunately for them, that stint on the shelf was shortlived, as both former MVPs will be back on the floor for Friday night’s clash vs. the Charlotte Hornets, per Marc Stein.

LeBron is averaging 27.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.1 three-pointers per game on 48.6% from the floor.

Westbrook, on the other hand, has been their offensive catalyst off the bench, with averages of 14.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 7.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and one triple per contest.

However, there’s a small chance they decide to keep both Westbrook and James out for that game as they’re in for a Christmas-day matchup with the Dallas Mavericks.

The Lakers are currently sitting at the 13th spot in the Western Conference with a 13-18 record, but they’re just a couple of games behind in the race for a spot in the play-in tournament-

Needless to say, they most definitely cannot afford to have two of their three best players out.
