2 MLB Teams Who Need To Sign A Star This Offseason
[ad_1]

We are officially one day away from the start of the MLB free agency period.
Each year there are always a few teams looking to spend big money to land some star players.
With the look of the current free agents, that should once again be expected this year.
Some of the best players in the sport are looking for lucrative paydays on the open market.
But, finding the right fit is key for any player looking for a new team.
Here are two MLB teams who need to sign a star as we enter the offseason.
1. Philadelphia Phillies
After a historic run saw the Philadelphia Phillies fall two wins shy of a world championship, expect them to reload in free agency.
One big reason for the run was the play of two-time MVP Bryce Harper.
The slugger carried the Phillies throughout the postseason, showing he can be a big-time playoff performer.
Harper was the last star that signed with the Phillies, and that was before the 2019 season.
It is time for them to go after another elite player.
The names they should be most interested in are Trea Turner, Xander Bogaerts, Jose Abreu, and Carlos Rodon.

Adding a shortstop should be one of the top needs for the Phillies heading into next year.
This offseason will tell us everything we need to know about the Phillies’ chances of repeating as NL champs.
2. San Francisco Giants
Another NL team that has a rich baseball history of winning is the San Francisco Giants.
So after a down season that saw the Giants go 81-81, plenty of changes should be in place.
The main change is adding a star player this offseason, as the Giants have not had a star hitter since Buster Posey.
But, they seem fully invested in adding a star this offseason.
“The Giants are ready to write checks. I think they’re going to go after some big boys.”

The top name on all teams’ free agency wish list is Aaron Judge.
He is someone the Giants covet, and would be a great landing spot for the slugger if he leaves New York.
Other huge names the Giants could go after include Jacob deGrom, Trea Turner, and Carlos Correa.
With a team desperate for a star like the Giants, they will be willing to pay any cost to land a difference-maker.
