1 Splash Signing The Yankees Still Need To Make
[ad_1]

The New York Yankees will always be judged on whether they win the World Series.
After re-signing their most crucial player, Aaron Judge, New York still needs to make a few moves.
The Yankees were swept in the ALCS by the Houston Astros, proving they have not done enough to close that gap.
But, with plenty of good free agents still available the Yankees have a chance to make a splash.
Here is one player the Yankees need to target, to help make them World Series favorites.
The Star Shortstop
What the Yankees need to ask themselves is if they want to win now or not.
Signing Carlos Correa would be the ultimate win-now move still available.
Even though they have plenty of young shortstops who could take the job, no one will be good as Correa over the next few years.

Correa has been one of the top shortstops in the MLB over the past two seasons.
He had a WAR of 10.5 last year and finished fifth in AL MVP voting in 2021.
Plus he won his first career Gold Glove award, in his only year with the Minnesota Twins.
The Yankees have never been shy at committing large sums of money to star players.
So signing Judge and Correa in the same offseason to $300+ million contracts would be monumental.
The only issue in Correa’s game is that he has not developed that elite home run swing.
His career high in homers is 26, which he set in 2021.
Correa is a career .279 hitter but hit .291 last season.
The Yankees need to make another splash move, and signing Correa would be just the thing.
